Join us for an evening with Artem Chapeye, author of The Weathering, in conversation at Veranda Books, London W1H 5BA on  18 May, 6:30pm GMT.

Currently serving in the Ukrainian army, Chapeye will be in London for a brief visit to discuss his new novel, which follows a couple who escape city life to the Ukrainian mountains, only to return to a changed reality. He is also the author of the short fiction collection The Ukraine and the reportage Ordinary People Don’t Carry Machine Guns.

In conversation with Uilleam Blacker, an academic at UCL who specialises in Eastern European literature, this promises to be an evening of lively and compelling discussion about Chapeye’s work, as well as a timely reminder of the ongoing (and increasingly forgotten) conflict at the edge of our continent.
