Vlady Kociancich

VLADY KOCIANCICH (1941-2022) was an Argentine writer, literary critic, and translator. Influenced by Borges, Bioy Casares, Wells, Lampedusa, and Cortázar, she authored over a dozen books, including The Eighth Wonder, The Last Days of William Shakespeare, and Eltemplo de las mujeres, as well as notable short story collections and essays. She translated works such as Conrad’s The End of the Tether, taught at the Complutense University of Madrid, and contributed to La Nación and Clarín. Her awards include the City of Buenos Aires Short Story Prize, the Torrente Ballester Prize, twoKonex and Fondo Nacional de las Artes Borges Prizes, and the Esteban Echeverría Trajectory Prize.
